IBBLoL is a non-profit organization that helps people in the community gather friends and family to make brown bag lunches for those in need. Lunch bags include: a sandwich, drink, snack, napkin and hand written note of encouragement. The lunches are then distributed to local shelters for those in need.
The original goal was 1000 lunches here in Diane's home town of Detroit, Michigan. 9000 have been packed with a commitment for 13000 more. How about your hometown? You are all invited to create an event in your home town as well. UK, AUSTRALIA, CANADA and SIXTEEN U.S. states are already on board. Will you join us?
The goal is to find someone in each state (yes, across the USA) to join us and do the same. Lunches consist of a pb & j sandwich, snack and juice. It is in giving that we truly receive. GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME.
Donations needed: grocery store gift cards (most will donate if you bring them a flyer), brown bags, sandwich bags, juice boxes, granola/fruit/snacks, boxes for packing, plastic gloves and hair nets, napkins, peanut butter, jelly, bread. VOLUNTEERS!
A week ago, I helped with a fundraiser for a woman with cancer i didn't meet. Very sadly, Lisa died March 14th. My 12 year old said "mom....now you have to pick someone else to help." I asked my 6th grade catechism class to choose 1 out of 12 service projects for Lent and they wanted FOUR. Helping the homeless was one of them.....so here we are!
USA (at least SIXTEEN states), CANADA, AUSTRALIA and the UNITED KINGDOM are IN! www.lunchesoflove.org keep on giving.
